I haven't been here in a few years...

Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving! Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but here is a good one for y'all :)

This past week I was in Rhode Island for Thanksgiving! I hadn't been back to RI in quite a few years, so it was nice to go back to the place I grew up.

My trip started off pretty badly though. My first flight was delayed by over 2 hours, causing me to miss my connecting flight! But I finally made it (on a plane with free TV, Sirius Radio, and snacks!) and luckily I have amazing friends who are willing to pick me up late at night from the airport :)

The next morning, I woke up and went for a run. I saw my old house:

My elementary school (of course my finger and shadow are in the way):

Beautiful RI scenery:

The harbor:

And my run wouldn't have been complete without running into people I knew- this is a small state, you know :)

How often do you visit places you used to live?
Did you travel anywhere this weekend? Have a flight trouble?

  1. So glad you were able to go back to RI & see all your good friends and familiar places! So how did you feel seeing your old home (or at least the one you remember best - I don't think you remember too much from FL or do you?).

Whenever I go to MI, I am so busy visiting with family that I just don't get to go to my old home(s).

We just stayed put this weekend, knowing it is the busiest time of year to travel (next to Christmas). I do a majority of my traveling in the summer (due to my school schedule, as well as the kids). And you know that we fly stand-by...so we just go with the flow! Luckily, I haven't had too much problems making any of the flights that I plan for.

    1. I felt good about seeing my old house- lots of random memories! It looks almost the same, besides the front door.

  2. Beautiful pictures of the old neighborhood. We did have a great time living in Rhode Island. Yes, I visit Detroit, Michigan and go by my old house and my grandmother's house. Very dangerous neighborhoods now in Detroit, can't believe how some things change. Flights are always a problem, like I should be in San Juan Puerto Rico now, but at home instead, which is actually good. YOU STILL HAVE A FEW THINGS ON YOUR BUCKET LIST!

    1. That's sad that your old neighborhoods are dangerous. RI still looks pretty much the same around where we lived. I was more surprised that Cedar Hill was the same- I figured they would need an addition for more kids. I don't think I'm going to finish everything on the list since some of those museums cost money :( but hopefully I'll get close!
